Office Guidelines

Helpful information about our Urgent Care Centers:

We want you to have the best possible outcome from your first visit with us. The following guidelines will help you understand how we can work togther to achieve this goal:

Our Physicians

All staff physicians at PMC-Urgent Care Centers are Florida-licensed and Board-certified in their respective professions. However, you may also be treated by a resident physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner, all of whom are licensed and fully qualified.

Injuries and Illnesses Treated

At PMC-Urgent Care Centers, we treat non-life threatening injuries and illnesses. Types of injuries treated may include include cuts, lacerations, burns, sprains, strains, auto-accident injuries, eye injuries and simple fractures. Types of illnesses treated include colds, sore throats, flu, fever, upper respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, Insect Bites, and Digestive Ailments. We also provide physical examinations and treatment for ongoing medical problems.

Treatment Priority and Wait Times

Typically, we see patients at our Urgent Care Centers in the order they sign in. An exception would be patients needing immediate attention. Patients who have been injured via trauma (Auto-Accident, Workers Compensation injury or Slip/Fall injury) are considered as an emergency and would be seen immediately. Visit times may vary, but our intention is to limit visits at our centers to less than one hour.

Hours of Operation

All PMC-Urgent Care Centers are open seven days a week. Individual center hours may vary, click here for individual hours of operation.

Prescription Refills

We may be able to refill some prescriptions by telephone. However, refills for prescription medications such as antibiotics for acute conditions generally require an evaluation at one of our Urgent Care Centers.

Lab and X-ray Results

Over 90% of all laboratory tests and x-rays ordered by our physicians can be performed on site at the time of your visit. When you undergo a laboratory test or X-ray at our center, you may call for your results after one week has elapsed if you have not already heard from us. When you call for your results, please allow 24 hours for our clinicians to call you back. If you are referred to a specialist who then orders a test, we request that you call his or her office for those results.

Referrals

Our physicians and physician extenders are trained to deal with most non-life-threatening medical problems. However, if your illness or injury is beyond the scope of our services, we will recommend that you consult a specialist. If hospitalization is necessary, we will make those arrangements as well.

Fees

There is a standard fee for an initial visit at our Urgent Care Centers. However, there may be additional charges for medications, medical supplies, lab work, X-rays, EKGs, surgical procedures and various other services.

Payment

Payment for medical services, including any co-payment and deductible, is due at the time medical services are provided unless alternative arrangements are made in advance. We accept cash, check, debit cards, credit cards, and most insurance plans.

Insurance

We accept insurance benefits from most major medical insurance plans, auto-accident insurance, workers’ compensation benefits and medicare. If you are covered by one of these plans we will file your insurance as a courtesy to you, seeking reimbursement directly to us. Should your insurance company decline payment of your claim, you will be responsible for any outstanding balance. We will verify your insurance prior to any treatments. You will be notified of any out of pocket expenses. Co-payments and deductibles are due at the time of service.
